Listen to the latest 60 second episode of Integrity Moments with Rick Boxx
In this series, we’re discussing a Biblical understanding of work. God worked and created the heavens and the earth.
God then created man to co-labor with Him and to rule over God’s creation. The work in the garden was fruitful and an enjoyable experience until Adam and Eve sinned.
Many believe that the consequence of Adam’s sin was that work was cursed, but that’s not the case. The ground was cursed, which made the work harder.
In Genesis 3:17 we read, “Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life.”
God’s design was for work to be fruitful and enjoyable. Unfortunately, because of sin, we now have to work harder, but work can still be joy-filled and meaningful.
