Houston Christian University recently conducted a survey of Christian business leaders. One of the issues discussed was the challenge of living an ethical life in the workplace.
The research revealed that sixty-one percent (61%) of Christian leaders feel that moral conflicts put the impact of their faith expression at risk.
In my opinion, the core of this conflict is often about purpose. Many business leaders will tell you that their purpose is profit. But for Christians, our purpose is to glorify God.
1 Corinthians 10:31 teaches, “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
The way we often set ourselves apart in the marketplace is by standing firm in our purpose and making the right decisions, not just profitable ones.
