Trust is the currency of commerce. If you have the choice of doing business with someone you trust versus someone you don’t trust, you’re likely to do business with the person you trust.
Trust has been lost in the media, our politicians, and even with our scientific community. As business leaders, we need to be careful to build trust rather than destroy the trust that our customers have in us.
Psalm 5:8 says, “Lead me, Lord, in your righteousness because of my enemies—make your way straight before me. Not a word from their mouth can be trusted.”
There are at least four enemies of building trust in business we will consider in this series: hyperbole, lies, omissions and lack of transparency. Remember: building trust is crucial to your success.
