Many people limit a spiritual calling to only pastors and missionaries. Over the years, however, I’ve seen this flawed understanding of calling dramatically broaden to include those in the workplace.
An article on theconversation.com website stated that business scholars Mitchell Neubert and Katie Halbesleben define spiritual calling as “a summons from God to approach work with a sense of purpose and a pursuit of excellence in work practices.”
This contrasts with many who perceive work as simply a means to a paycheck. Doing work only for money can be a joyless exercise.
In Matthew 6:33, Jesus said, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
Pursuing your spiritual calling at work, will come with God’s financial provision as well.
