In the movie, The Hill, Rickey Hill tries to convince his father that he can glorify God by playing baseball. Rickey’s father, as a pastor, seemed to believe that the only real calling was being a pastor.
Rickey Hill overcame significant bone and spinal cord problems to become a professional baseball player with the Montreal Expos. Sadly, Rickey’s father never watched his son play baseball, possibly due to his flawed view that baseball couldn’t be a God-honored calling.
Romans 9:21 teaches, “Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use?”
God makes each of us with a purpose in mind, including business. Don’t allow others to rob you of your God ordained calling.
