While wrapping up an audit I was leading, years ago, I asked a young subordinate to complete one simple task, before I returned from a nearby errand. When I returned, the task was still not completed and the young auditor was asleep on top of the board room table, hungover from the night before!
Just as I expected this young man to be productive with the work I assigned him, God expects us to be productive as well.
In Genesis 1:28 we read, “God blessed (Adam and Eve); and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it.”
God has a plan to care for billions of people, and He uses each of us and our work to help carry out that responsibility. Our productivity does matter!
