A 2014 study conducted by Mike Norton of Harvard Business School discovered an interesting answer to the question, “How much is enough?” When Norton asked wealthy clients of a large investment bank how much was enough, they typically answered with a number 3 times greater than their personal net worth.
Yet, according to the Wall Street Journal, other research indicates that more money doesn’t bring happiness, except for some who earn less than $75,000 annually!
Hebrews 13:5 has some good advice, “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
If your primary purpose for work is amassing wealth, remember it won’t buy you happiness. Instead, focus on contentment.
