On a night out with my wife, Kathy, we decided to try an unfamiliar Greek restaurant. The clerk was very helpful to steer my wife towards a good choice, but when she came to my order I had my mind made up.
I confidently ordered a unique menu item. The clerk paused and asked, “Have you ever been here before?” When I replied “no,” she surprised me.
“I wouldn’t choose that one,” she said. “We have a better choice and it’s actually much cheaper.” I was later grateful for her direction.
Paul wrote in Philippians 2:4, “Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.”
Truly great customer service is when someone sets aside their own self interest for their customers.
