Years ago, I attended a CEO roundtable group meeting where we were surprised to learn that the host CEO was involved in a kickback scheme. His entire team knew this, but this CEO didn’t believe what he was doing was wrong.
This CEO had rationalized his actions and didn’t understand why the ethical climate of his organization had deteriorated. He finally repented.
