Olathe Kansas Fire Chief, Jeff DeGraffenreid, recently shared that part of the fire department’s role is to help educate children on fire safety. Years ago, the Olathe Fire Department decided to use clowns to better engage with the children.
For years, the program was successful, until recently when clowns became viewed as creepy.
Jeff decided to eliminate the clown program. Although the decision wasn’t popular with their trained clowns, this decision allowed the fire department to focus on better ways to educate children.
God also accomplished more with less when he told Gideon to send 32,000 men home, leaving only 300 men for battle. Judges 7:8 says, “So Gideon sent the rest of the Israelites home but kept the three hundred…”
In business, more can often be accomplished with less.
