Mary Key, of the Institute for Corporate Productivity, recently stated, “Instead of just talking about what their values are, higher-level leaders act on their values.”
In other words, leaders who want to leave an impact do what they say. They practice what they preach. More than verbalizing what their closely held beliefs are, they rely on their behavior to inspire, teach and guide their staff.
1 John 2:6 says, “The one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.”
High-level leaders leave little positive impact on their sphere of influence if their life does not match the words they claim to believe. Those who want to leave a legacy understand their doing and showing is more important than their speaking.
