Booker T. Washington was an African American leader who overcame many obstacles to become a great leader and founder of the Tuskegee Institute. He once said, “I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has had to overcome while trying to succeed.”
Mr. Washington believed the Bible is the best guide for life. In a May 1900 speech, Mr. Washington, proclaimed, “The Bible should be read as a daily guide to right living and as a daily incentive to positive Christian service.”
Psalm 119:105 teaches, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
Let us follow Mr. Washington’s example and turn to God’s Word as our guide.
