Over the years our national elections seem to have become more and more contentious. This can spill over into the marketplace as business leaders find it harder to willingly comply with the changing regulations and onerous bureaucracy, especially when they adamantly oppose those elected to office.
The Apostle Paul lived in a time when many despised the ruling class, yet he wrote these words in Romans 13, “Therefore, it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for conscience’ sake. For because of this you also pay taxes, for rulers are servants of God, devoting themselves to this very thing.”
Regardless of the results of today’s election, remember our hope is in God not politicians and God says to be subject to His public servants.
