After years of hard work, Doc Hunsley finally achieved his dream of becoming an Emergency Room doctor. Unfortunately, his first month resulted in catching a serious illness from a patient.
Over the next few years, Doc was in-and-out of the hospital almost dying multiple times. His medical problems resulted in a shift from being a doctor to becoming a stay-at-home dad. Then, his son had a seizure and was diagnosed with autism!
Doc’s derailed career, however, became a blessing for thousands when he later used his experiences to start SOAR, a ministry for those with special needs.
Isaiah 55:8 says, “‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the Lord.”
Sometimes our career path is just a step towards God’s ultimate design for us.
