According to the Dallas Express, a lawsuit against the software company Workday may establish significant precedent regarding the use of AI for hiring practices. Workday’s AI hiring software called, Hired Score, is reportedly being used by over 11,000 companies and has processed over 1 billion job applications.

In his lawsuit, Plaintiff Derek Mobley claims that Workday’s AI software screened out applicants over 40 years old, resulting in over 100 of his job applications being illegally rejected. This highlights a risk for businesses: that AI is only as good as the person programming the software.

Proverbs 22:3 says, “The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.”

AI may prove to be a valuable tool but, it still needs oversight from real people.
