In the story of Esther, Esther’s goal was to convince the king to save the Jews from annihilation. She wisely decided to first invite the king and Haman to a feast.

She could have made her request then, but she didn’t.

In Esther 5:6, the king says, “Now what is your petition? It will be given you. And what is your request? Even up to half the kingdom, it will be granted.”

Even with that opening, Esther deferred her request. It might have been out of fear, but I believe it was instinct.

She knew the timing wasn’t right.  When Esther finally made her request, God had prepared the king’s heart and Esther’s request was granted.

Don’t overlook your God-given instincts. There are times in business when timing is everything.
