As 2017 began, my wife, Kathy, proclaimed that this should be the year of adventure. Then she began researching what “adventure” meant.
One of the definitions in dictionary.com says, “A bold, usually risky undertaking; hazardous action of uncertain outcome.” A different definition of adventure is, “participation in exciting undertakings.”
After pondering the first definition, Kathy wanted to recant her proclamation. Hazardous actions with uncertain outcomes sounded frightening. She wants exciting undertakings, but not if it involves much risk! Eventually, Kathy overcame her fear
Proverbs 29:25 teaches, “Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.”
Business is an ongoing adventure. Fear can hinder our progress but, when we trust in God, our obedience to God’s calling is the safest path.
