Years ago, I wrote monthly articles for a Christian business magazine. For one April issue, I did not have peace about submitting an article.

When the April issue arrived, I realized that God had protected me. I was shocked that most of the magazine made weak arguments for not paying taxes to the Federal government.

In Romans 13:2, the Apostle Paul wrote, “Whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.”

Later, Paul continued, “This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing.”

We may not like where, or how, our tax monies are spent, but that doesn’t override God’s mandate to pay our taxes.
