Integrity Moments is a 60 second workday devotional that provides business leaders with helpful insight into what the Bible says about our work and how we can fully integrate our faith into our vocational calling.

In 1847, when Esther Howland was 19 years old, one of her father’s business associates gave her a Valentine’s card that had been produced in Europe. Although common in Europe, Valentine’s Day cards were not affordable to most Americans.

Esther determined she could improve the quality of the card. On her brother’s next sales trip, Esther gave him a dozen sample Valentine Day cards hoping for $200 in orders.

When her brother returned with $5,000 in orders, Esther knew she had a viable business. Eventually, Esther became known as The Mother of the American Valentine.

Colossians 4:5 teaches, “Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.

What I love about entrepreneurs like Esther is how they make the most of their opportunities!
