Integrity Moments is a 60 second workday devotional that provides business leaders with helpful insight into what the Bible says about our work and how we can fully integrate our faith into our vocational calling.

The movie, “The Boys in the Boat” highlights several powerful leadership lessons. This true story spotlights a University of Washington rowing team who surprises the world by competing in the 1936 Olympics.

Rowing was a sport that had been dominated by well-resourced Ivy League schools. This team from Washington, however, began with at least one homeless young man.

One of the primary rowers tried out for the rowing team out of necessity. He was homeless, hungry, and couldn’t afford his college tuition.

This young man’s physical hunger drove him to excel, while later, his hunger for meaning drove him to greatness.

Proverbs 16:26 says, “The appetite of laborers works for them; their hunger drives them on.”

In business, sometimes your best hires are driven to greatness by their appetites.
