Listen to the latest 60 second episode of Integrity Moments with Rick Boxx
An article from Crosswalk says, “If you stop tithing in order to save money, you immediately stop trusting in God and start trusting in yourself and in the world.” Tithing, therefore, is not a matter of money, it’s a matter of trust. It’s a matter of where and on whom we place our trust.
Deuteronomy 14:23 says, “Bring this tithe to the designated place of worship—the place the Lord your God chooses for his name to be honored—and eat it there in his presence…Doing this will teach you always to fear the Lord your God.”
In times of hardship, tithing seems expendable, but the fear of the Lord, the result of tithing, is an indispensable fear. Tithing brings perspective and highlights trust in the Lord of the harvest.
