Some business partners I know were professed Christians, but they kept having disagreements about how their faith should be reflected in their business. One partner was adamant that their faith should be separate.

During a heated exchange, the one partner who was reticent about his faith blurted out, “My father taught me that business is business and faith is faith. Don’t mix the two.”

This partner, like many business people, has built a wall around his faith, compartmentalizing his personal beliefs from his vocation.

Colossians 3:23 teaches, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”

If you have built a wall between your faith and your work life, remember President Reagan’s proclamation, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down that wall!”
