Many immigrants came here looking for a job and a better opportunity for their family. This places the workplace at the center of the highly-charged immigration controversy.
Businesses, however, desire good employees at a fair wage, without controversy. They prefer peace.
Immigration is one of those problems where you can use the Bible to highlight the need for justice, and/or you can use it to emphasize mercy and loving your neighbor. Peace will only come from understanding and wisdom.
James 3:18 teaches, “Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.”
Sowing peace into your workplace requires gaining understanding of all sides of the issue and showing dignity and respect to each person. If you’re sensing tension in your workplace around this issue facilitate opportunities to gain understanding.
