Senator Bernie Sanders recently proposed to change the workweek from 40 hours a week to 32 hours. In this series we’re exploring biblical considerations pertinent to this issue.
Previously we looked at God’s command to work six days a week. I believe our work includes maintaining our home and outside responsibilities.
That leads to asking, “How many hours a day should we work?”
Historically some have worked twelve hour days while others have worked six.
The Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Thessalonians 3:8, “We worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you.”
God doesn’t give us a clear answer, but I believe we’re required to work enough to get the job done and not be a burden to anyone.
