Quarterback Patrick Mahomes started this season proclaiming that the Kansas City Chiefs would be completely undefeated. It didn’t take long before that dream was shattered.
As defeat after defeat happened, Mahomes seemed to struggle on and off the field. His confidence seemed shaken as well.
Fortunately, Mahomes regained his confidence against the Las Vegas Raiders, miraculously moving from last place to first place. Mahomes had the same great skills during his drought, but football, as well as in our work, is just as much about our mental attitude.
2 Corinthians 3:5 teaches, “Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.”
When your confidence has been shaken, it’s good to remember that your competence comes from God. He deserves all our confidence.
