During my last semester in college, the University of Missouri hosted a recruiting event for many of the largest CPA firms. Some firms were not willing to interview anyone with less than a 3.5 grade point.

This left me with less options than some of my peers, so I needed to somehow set myself apart. So, when I sent a follow-up thank you letter to the firm in which I was most interested, I attached a picture of myself.

The Managing Partner later told me that my picture set me apart, resulting in my job offer.

Psalm 4:3, “But know that the Lord has set apart the godly person for Himself.”

As God’s children, we are to stand out from others. Look for ways to differentiate yourself in your workplace.
