In my youth, my peers were very competitive when it came to dating so I felt obligated to find a Valentine’s Day date to avoid their verbal abuse. On occasion, due to time pressures, I would line-up a date with someone with whom I really had little interest.
My pursuit of any possible date led me to disrespect others as well as myself.
In business we also sometimes apply self-imposed timelines and expectations that may result in less than God’s best. For instance, we may hire someone in haste due to our workload, realizing later that we hired the wrong person.
Proverbs 14:16 teaches, “A wise man is cautious and turns away from evil, But a fool is arrogant and careless.”
Don’t allow time deadlines and self-imposed expectations force you into a foolish decision.
