Religionnews.com featured an article from some researchers on religion in the workplace. They surveyed 15,000 people of all faiths to better understand the role of faith in the workplace.

One survey question was whether the respondents “conceal their religious beliefs at work for fear of others’ perceptions.” Hindus, Muslims, and Buddhists ranked much higher in their desire to conceal their faith.

The least likely to hide their faith were evangelical protestants and Catholics. Since Christianity is America’s predominant faith, these statistics aren’t surprising.

James 1:26 tells us, “Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.”

By respecting others and their beliefs, we’re more likely to be given opportunities to share the hope of our faith.
