In my early 20s, my employer had me take a battery of tests. A corporate psychologist reviewed my results and shared with me that my drive for money was extremely high.
He reportedly told my boss that he doubted there was enough money there to keep me satisfied. It wasn’t what I wanted to hear, but at that time, it was likely accurate.
At that stage in my life I was constantly making risky investments with the sole purpose of increasing wealth. Many resulted in losses.
Ecclesiastes 5:10 teaches, “He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves abundance with its income. This too is vanity.”
I’ve learned that pursuing a life that pleases God is much more fruitful than the endless pursuit of wealth.
