Anyone who has been in business for long knows that there are business cycles. There are bull markets and bear markets. There are seasons of prosperity and there are recessions.
With over 10 years of prosperity, we recently ended the longest run of economic expansion. If there was ever a time to have been prepared for an economic famine, it should have been now. But corporate debt has soared during these years rather than corporate savings.
Proverbs 6:6-8 teaches, “Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.”
God desires us to plan for future calamities. When we do, He reveals our hearts and His will.
