A recent Wall Street Journal article chronicled business leaders’ complaints that too many employees are focusing on their phones or their laptops during business meetings. Some leaders acknowledged that they were guilty of the same behavior.

In today’s frenetic business world, being connected is considered a prerequisite to effective leadership. But when we are more connected to our devices than the people in the room, we miss an opportunity to live out our faith at work.

Jesus made being present an important part of his ministry, telling the disciples in words recorded in Matthew 28:20: “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Take advantage of every opportunity today to be present, paying attention and ministering to the people around you.
