As an optimist, troubles must stack up pretty high before I begin to feel discouraged. However, I had one of those weeks recently.
Our upcoming event was becoming overwhelming. We were experiencing some online problems and I learned of some customer issues.
The discouragement was building. I needed solitude.
As I took a car ride, I prayed and asked God for direction. My time of reflection reminded me of James 1, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”
My discouragement eased when I realized that God had a purpose for all these challenges. God’s Word encouraged me during a time of great discouragement. It will do the same for you.
