Jesus called out similar behavior in the religious leaders of his time, telling his followers: “So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.” (Matthew 23:3)
Learning God’s instruction is critically important. But we can’t stop just with learning. Our work will only benefit from that teaching when we consistently apply what we have learned to what we do.
