At eight years old my grandfather bought me an electric guitar and sent me to a music store for guitar lessons. My first guitar teacher was a man in his 80’s.

Every time I missed a note my teacher whacked me on the forehead with his baton. I would leave humiliated and upset. His approach robbed me of the joy of playing the guitar.

When this instructor finally passed away the store assigned me to a new guitar teacher. He affirmed my successes and treated me with dignity and patience. Same store, but vastly different customer service experiences.

Proverbs 27:23 teaches, “Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds.”

Do you know how well your customers are being treated by your front-line people?
