Listen to the latest 60 second episode of Integrity Moments with Rick Boxx
Integrity Moments is a 60 second workday devotional that provides business leaders with helpful insight into what the Bible says about our work and how we can fully integrate our faith into our vocational calling.

When I was a loan officer, a man pulled up in a new Mercedes, was dressed very flashy, and was wearing lots of expensive jewelry. Afterwards, my assistant said, “That man looks very wealthy. Why does he need to borrow money?”

I told her, “Like they say in Texas, he’s all hat and no cattle.”

His Mercedes was about to be repossessed, he was unemployed, and his credit cards were maxed out. His appearance seemed to be more important to him than building true wealth.

Proverbs 12:9 teaches, “Better to be a nobody and yet have a servant than pretend to be somebody and have no food.”

In business, many people who are pitching deals may not be as they seem. Be careful not to be deceived by appearances.
