Recently, I was working on a grant proposal that had a Monday morning deadline. After spending much of Saturday on the proposal, I thought the end was near.
Rather than finish it on Saturday, I thought I could finish it in a couple of hours early Sunday morning. Those two hours turned into ten hours.
My body was not designed for seven days of work. Due to exhaustion and poor planning my mistakes were frequent and unnecessary.
Hebrews 4:11 teaches, “Therefore let’s make every effort to enter that (Sabbath) rest, so that no one will fall by following the same example of disobedience.”
God modeled and provided the opportunity for us to have a Sabbath rest. It’s wise for us to honor and model that rest for our team and ourselves.
