Memorial Day is a day to memorialize those who died representing our country in military service. Marking a set day on the calendar each year is a great way to remember the deeds of those who have served us well.
The tradition of remembering and memorializing events dates back at least 3000 years to the Passover.
In Exodus 12:14, God prepared Moses for future celebrations when He said, “This day shall be for you a memorial day, and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord; throughout your generations, as a statute forever, you shall keep it as a feast.”
Memorial Day, and other holidays like it, are important for remembering the legacy we have, and, to honor God and those who have served us well.
