While working construction during college, my boss asked me to pick up Dennis on my way to the job site. When I arrived at Dennis’ house, Dennis was smoking dope.
On our way to the job site, Dennis asked me to stop at a convenience store. He returned with a six pack of beer and began drinking.
That day, while I dug ditches, Dennis finished off his beer. By lunch time, when our boss came by, Dennis was obviously drunk. Our boss was disgusted and Dennis was terminated shortly thereafter.
Proverbs 10:26 says, “Like vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, so is the lazy one to those who send him.”
A lazy employee is harmful to productivity and corporate morale. Address it quickly or suffer the consequences.
