With a swift pull of the handle, Matt heard a snap, resulting in the frayed pull cord to the machine dangling in his hand. In an instant, Matt went from poised to possessed, throwing the lacerated rope and handle across his shop floor.
Later, Matt reflected on why he lost his composure over a broken pull cord. Matt concluded it was a lack of “spiritual preparation.”
Spiritual preparation for Matt is being intentional with his time, each morning, connecting with God through meditation and reading of His Word.
Paul says in Galatians 5:16 “So, I say, walk by the spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”
