A low point in my career came when I worked at a small communications agency. After losing a large client, everyone had to work harder and find new revenue. The clients that I did have were enmeshed in stressful public controversies (which was why they needed communications help). On top of that, I was working far from family and the support they could offer.

I prayed for a new path, and God answered with a new job that was closer to home, and with work that more closely matched my skills and personality.

Proverbs 23:18 (NASB) says, “Certainly there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.”

When you are facing a particularly challenging work season, put your faith in the hope God promises.
