While helping a business owner develop a ministry plan for his business, I was reminded of the untapped potential many have to bring God glory through their work. God has unconventional ways if we just pause to consider the possibilities.
For instance, most financial advisors get paid more for helping you increase wealth, not for encouraging you to be more generous. But an advisor with a higher purpose is more likely to address charitable giving with their customers.
Isaiah 55:9 teaches, “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.”
If we desire to truly minister to others, and, please God in the process, we need to consider His higher purposes for our work.
