Professors Denise Daniels and Elaine Ecklund developed a Faith at Work Matrix for the different ways we can live out our vocational calling. The final way, that Denise Daniels believes is sometimes overlooked by the faith at work movement, is serving others beyond work.
Our work has an additional benefit from the intrinsic value of the work itself. In short, work provides resources used to serve others.
Our paycheck provides for our family, but it can also provide for other’s needs through our generosity. God has used many people like John Rockfeller or more currently, David Green, to fund Kingdom activity through their profitable work.
Proverbs 11:25 says, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”
Don’t overlook the importance your work has on providing for others.
