Ghosting has become commonplace for both employers and employees. Some job applicants have gone through the hiring process and even promised a job, only to never hear from the company again.
Technology can help with the overwhelming task of screening out unlikely candidates, but it also makes it easier to forget to follow-up with those you have interviewed.
There’s a fine line as to what amount of follow-up is necessary, but certainly if you have committed verbally to hire someone, then to never return their calls, crosses the line of integrity.
Ecclesiastes 5:5 says, “It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it.”
If you make a promise to hire someone, or a pledge to follow-up, then honor God by honoring that pledge.
