Everyone wanted Darren on their work teams. He was positive, encouraging, and kind. Yet once you got to know him, you heard stories of the challenges he had faced in life, from childhood trauma to chronic health issues.
But Darren saw those things not as an excuse to complain, but as an opportunity to show how Jesus had given him a hope that transcended his situation.
Paul wrote, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Everyone is dealing with something. One of the most powerful witnesses we can have is showing others that Jesus makes a difference in our lives, particularly when the world expects a different reaction to our challenges.
