CECP, a nonprofit that tracks corporate giving, revealed in their “2015 Giving in Numbers” survey that 85% of the companies they surveyed measure the outcomes of their charitable giving. Those who measured their results must have been pleased with what they found, because on average, these charitable companies increased their giving from 11% of revenue to 13% of revenue!
Generosity is one of the many paradoxes we discover in scripture. On the surface, it seems that if we give money away, the end result would be less for us and our shareholders.
However, 2 Corinthians 9:6 teaches, “Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.”
In God’s economy, when we’re generous, God pours out blessings that can offset our generosity, and allow for even more generosity.
