This week we’re discussing some of the causes of conflict in today’s workplace. One of those causes is greed.
Years ago, I helped a contractor establish a bonus plan for their branch locations. The bonus plan worked fine and everyone played by the rules except for one manager.
He became greedy and manipulated the numbers to increase his part of the company wide bonus pool. This began causing conflict between him and the owner, but also his greed negatively impacted the other managers as well. The trust he had acquired diminished significantly.
Proverbs 28:25 teaches, “The greedy stir up conflict, but those who trust in the Lord will prosper.”
When you’re tempted by greed, remember to be content with the Lord’s provision. It will decrease your workplace conflicts and stress.
