While in college, I worked as a night custodian at an elementary school, where I became acquainted with Jim, the daytime custodian. I was surprised to learn Jim had previously built a very successful business and family, until his secretary began flirting with him.
He eventually succumbed to the temptation and had an affair. Jim’s wife divorced him and gained control of the business through the divorce. Jim said to me, “Rick, please learn from my mistake. Don’t ever fall into the temptation of sleeping with your employees.”
Proverbs 7:4 teaches, “Say to wisdom, ‘You are my sister,’ and to insight, ‘You are my relative.’ They will keep you from the adulterous woman…”
Temptation abounds in the marketplace. Listen to the wisdom of Jim and others and flee temptation.

This month, I would like to challenge and assist you in making a habit of reading one chapter of Proverbs each day. I have selected a verse from Proverbs each day of this month. In addition to reading this daily devotional, I encourage you to also read or listen to the entire chapter for that day. We will provide a link for you to go to that chapter each day.
