When Bill was younger, his business was struggling for survival about the time he attended a ministry retreat. During that retreat, the ministry founder challenged the attendees to pledge at least $1 million in their lifetime to support evangelism.

Bill said it felt crazy, but even though he was broke, he made the pledge. Within 10 years, Bill had surpassed the $1 million goal and was working on his second million.

Proverbs 3 teaches, “Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.”

If you’ve ever wondered, “Are people generous because they are wealthy or are they wealthy because they are generous?” Be assured, generosity usually comes before wealth.

The Proverbs Challenge:

There are 31 chapters of Proverbs and 31 days in the month of May. Many business leaders have developed a habit of reading Proverbs and have discovered great value to their business life.

This month, I would like to challenge and assist you in making a habit of reading one chapter of Proverbs each day. I have selected a verse from Proverbs each day of this month. In addition to reading this daily devotional, I encourage you to also read or listen to the entire chapter for that day. We will provide a link for you to go to that chapter each day. Enjoy growing in wisdom!
