Listen to the latest 60 second episode of Integrity Moments with Rick Boxx
Integrity Moments is a 60 second workday devotional that provides business leaders with helpful insight into what the Bible says about our work and how we can fully integrate our faith into our vocational calling.

This week I’m addressing the importance of selecting the right leaders for a board or church. Yesterday, we discussed the qualities to avoid, but the rest of the week we’ll highlight the admirable traits that the Apostle Paul recommends in an overseer.

In Titus 1:8, Paul said about overseers, “Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined.”

The Greek for hospitable means fond of guests or, a lover of people. A board member or elder is an ambassador for the organization.

If they easily offend others or don’t like people, they will not be a good ambassador. When seeking a new board member find a good ambassador. They may not always be extroverted, but they do need to love people.
