It can be tempting to see favorable trends and declare victory. But we need to be careful not to define our optimism by the fickle hearts of unpredictable people.
Paul wrote, “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” (Colossians 3:1-2)
We should celebrate when we see signs of growing faith at work and in our culture. But we are called to be faithful whether we can see the results or not.
